Nick Larson is the host and creator of the Birdshot Podcast. He and his family, which includes a pair of English setters, reside in Minnesota where he grew up and fell in love with the outdoors. Naturally, his favorite pursuit is upland bird hunting dating back 25+ years from his humble beginnings as a “partridge” hunter. Today, he chases adventure across the uplands wherever his bird dogs and the people he connects with inspire him to go.

A tailgate conversation during a mid-hunt break with two members of Minnesota Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.

The result of a donation made to Minnesota Backcountry Hunters and Anglers about two years ago, I recently found myself in a new favorite grouse and woodcock cover with two fellow Minnesotans. We had finished an exciting morning of hunting over my two English setters and our conversation would set the stage for an even better evening hunt.

During our conversation you’ll meet Minnesota BHA board member, Matt Lee, along with the raffle winner Erik Laing. The three of us all share a passion for the outdoors including a special fondness for upland birds and the places they inhabit.
